In Search Engine Optimization

Many people are confused about how to do SEO (Search engine optimization) after Google Panda and Google Penguin updates in 2012.  They thought SEO was just about buying backlinks generated by software and stuffing keywords in meta tags and content.  If Google punishes those activities, then SEO must be dead.

Of course, SEO is not dead.  As a matter of fact, people have been saying SEO is dead since 1997.   As long as the majority of web traffic is driven by the major search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo! and people still rely on these search engines to search online, SEO is not dead. You still need SEO to help major search engines find your website and bring traffic to your website.

Aha media Group has created an awesome infographics called “Recipe For SEO Success in 2013”.  It explains the key SEO elements in a simple and easy-to-understand way so that you not only know what they are but also know how they relate to each other.  I think it is a perfect yet simple SEO guide for beginners to do SEO right in 2013.

As you can see, fresh content is the main driver to online traffic.  Creating high-quality content is vital to the success of your SEO plan.  Using variation of keywords and longtail keyword phrases increases the chances of exposure of your content to searches.

To maximize how people find your content, you need to follow the simple on-page SEO rules such as having keywords in your article title, URL, header and description, etc.  For on-page SEO, you can use SEOPressor to help you.  SEOPressor is a must-have tool for your on-page SEO.  The latest SEOPressor V5  has add an over-optimization check feature which alerts you whenever you’re over-optimized.  Very cool!

This infographics also lists several off-page SEO techniques.  I would like to point out that social media is going to play a bigger role in SEO in 2013.  Google has started to use social signal as a ranking factor.  If you haven’t had any social media presence, you should do it now.  Register now with major social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and LinkedIn.  You should start to build your connection and share your content with them.

In short, follow this simple SEO guide and focus on creating high-quality content consistently.  Your online business will flourish in 2013.   If you like this infographics, share it with your friends on social media.  Join our mailing list to receive more content like this.

Greetings Oliver from bone-chilly New Brunswick. My name is Michael and so great to get your mails, etc., especially THIS on on SEO. I’m a bona fide “newbie” to IM; however, I have learned a lot in the last few years. So, like it or not, I know SEO is still a driving force with IM no matter what anyone says. Yes, I’ve heard that it’s ‘dead’ but we all know it’s not. I really don’t know much about it to be honest but I DO know that it’s something that all successful marketers use as an effective IM tool. So, I’m trying to make it a point to learn SEO as much as possible and look forward to all correspondence from your desk! Thanks for the patience and cooperation and best regards for 2013! Michael.

The more landing pages you have, the more offers you’ll have to fuel the rest of your inbound marketing efforts. Remember, content is the heart and soul of any successful inbound marketing strategy. Without it, you’d have nothing to email your contacts, nothing to share with your social media fans and followers, nothing to promote through your website calls-to-action, nothing by which to get found and rank for your keywords in search.
