If you are still trying to figure out the difference between Google Panda and Google Penguin, Google has something new for you.  It is called disavow links tool. This new feature was introduced on Oct 16th.  It allows you to remove spamming links to your site.  The launches of Google Penguin updates have penalized websites with bad spamming links from other websites.  Bad link removal has been the major task for affected websites during the past several months.  The purpose of disavow links tool is to help webmaster clean up the link mess.

If you have tried some sort of link building strategies, you may wonder whether you should use this tool.  According to Google, this tool is for you if you have received a notification email about “unnatural links” pointing to your site.  If you haven’t gotten this notification, then you don’t need to worry about it.  In the video below, Matt Cutt has explained when you should use disavow links tool and how to use it.  Matt emphasized that most sites shouldn’t use this tool. If you do need to use it, use with caution.

Even if you don’t need to worry about Google disavow links tool, you should know its impact on the Internet.  Eugene Ware predicts “Millions of webmasters will be submitting long lists of low-quality or spammy sites, which Google can then use in its algorithm to penalize not only the sites that are providing these poor quality links, but also those that are linked to by these sites.”  Google is smart!  It kills two birds with one stone.

If your website is not affected by Google Panda and Penguin updates, congratulations!  Make sure you are familiar with Google’s webmaster guidelines which have not been changed much over the years.  Now Google is more serious to enforce the guidelines.  Just keep in mind that to enjoy a solid online business for a long term, you should be friend with Google and but don’t work against it.

First off I would like to say terrific blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your thoughts prior to writing. I have had a hard time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out. I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Thank you!
