In Search Engine Optimization

Some search engine optimization strategies that were used to help you improve your Google Pagerank may work against you since Google Panda update was released.

So What’s Panda Update?

Early this year, Google introduced Panda algorithm aiming to help people find more high-quality search results and improve search experience.  The Panda algorithm evaluates a website more from a human’s point of view instead of a machine’s view.  Websites with low quality duplicated content were badly hit by the first release of Panda 1 around Feb 20-26, 2011 and the 2nd release of Panda 2 series between May and the end of July.

Many websites were penalized because of their low quality or over-search-engine-optimization.  They  suffered from either drastic traffic decrease or Google Pagerank downgrade.  However, high-quality websites and pages were awarded with higher Google Pagerank from Panda update.

http://www.GoldenVisionforyou.com/blog is one of the winners. This blog site went from Google Pagerank 0 to 3 at the end of June. Many newly published blogs were rated Google Pagerank 2. Here are just a few of them:

As you can see, all these blogs provide useful, educational or entertaining information to the readers. That’s what Google likes.

Here are 5 tips that would improve your Google Pagerank:

1. Add original unique content to your website on a regular basis because Google likes fresh original content.

2. Get rid of pages without any content, and clean up or hide pages with duplicate content of your own. Use 301 redirect to avoid broken links.

3. Eliminate the use of auto-blogging software as much as possible. Auto-blogging software is used to automatically update the website with scraped content from other sties. In other words, the content is duplicated and may violate copyrights. Those sites were hit hard by Panda update. Sorry, Google does not like it. If you have to use it, be very cautious!

4. Reduce the number of ads, affiliate links especially at the top of the page.

5. Promote your website on social bookmarking sites and social network sites such as Google+, Twitter and Facebook.

In short, you need to do hard work to provide unique quality content to your readers. Establish your website as a credible information source on Google. In the end, you will be rewarded with higher Google Pagerank and increasing traffic. Find out more information on On-Page SEO. To your great success!
